Sonic joins NRG, nosraC leaves the roster after two months

North American organization NRG officially announced on its X account a roster change in its CS2 lineup. Experienced South African player Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek has joined the team, replacing Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly. This marks the second roster change for NRG in recent months, and the club hopes that the new addition will help the team find consistent results.

nosraC’s achievements in NRG

Carson " nosraC " O'Reilly joined NRG in July 2025. Over two months with the squad, he competed in several tier-2 and tier-3 tournaments, though he didn’t establish himself as a stable performer. Together with NRG, he managed to win CCT Season 3 North American Series #1 and ESL Challenger League Season 50: North America - Cup #1, which became the team’s most notable achievements during this period. His individual stats over the last three months were: rating – 0.97, ADR – 69.3, and Swing – -0.97%, reflecting an average level of play.

Sonic’s results

The newcomer Sonic previously represented Wildcard, where he played from October 2023 until September 2025. During this time, the team regularly participated in international tournaments but was unable to secure any major trophies. Their only LAN victory came at Frost and Fire Europe, while at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 the team finished in 25th–27th place. The most notable achievement for Wildcard with Sonic was reaching the quarterfinals of BLAST Rivals Spring 2025, where they lost 0–2 to Team Spirit and placed 5th–6th.

Sonic’s arrival to NRG is seen as a step forward for both sides: the player gets the chance to prove himself in a more ambitious roster, while the team gains valuable experience and an aggressive playstyle that could be the key to future victories on the North American stage.
