CS 2 Update Brings Fixes, but New Bugs Spark Player Concerns

Last night, a new update was rolled out for CS 2, bringing minor changes and fixes. One of the most noticeable tweaks involves the game’s physics system. Now, when a player is killed, their character model is thrown an unusually long distance, which appears to be an unintended bug.

Players on Reddit have also highlighted a new issue with weapon inspections. After equipping a weapon, there’s now a mandatory delay of a few seconds before players can inspect it, as the animation must first fully play out. Below is a detailed list of the changes included in the update.

January 8 Patch Notes

  • Inferno Ladder Fix: The ladder under the balcony on Inferno can no longer be climbed solo.
  • SSG08 Model Adjustments: Fixed inconsistencies with the outdated SSG08 model's offsets.
  • Dual Elites Magazine Fix: Adjusted the Dual Elites magazine model to prevent it from clipping through the holster on the leg.
  • Grenade Explosion Interactions: Fixed issues with how objects interact with grenade explosions.
  • Suppressor Inspection Bug: Resolved a bug that caused issues with the suppressor during weapon inspection.

These changes aim to polish the game further, though some adjustments, like the exaggerated physics and delayed inspections, have sparked mixed reactions from players.
