Months ago, fans of Ukrainian esports were shocked when Woro2k, a prominent sniper and co-founder of the Monte team, left the organization. He recently explained his decision on YouTube for the first time.

According to Woro2k, the departure wasn't due to a single issue but rather a combination of factors.

“We came to the mutual decision that it would be best for both of us to move forward separately,” he said.

Woro2k noted that various “misunderstandings” within the team had escalated into conflicts, particularly between him, Sergey "DemQQ" Demchenko, and Shimon Mrozek, known as kRaSnaL. These issues were exacerbated by the team’s poor results, which Woro2k attributed to the need for changes after a long period with the same roster.

“We had already played together enough; it happens,” he commented.

Monte’s management acknowledged the need for changes and sought to recruit two new players, trying both young academy talents and experienced free agents. However, these efforts did not yield the desired results, and the team's performance continued to suffer.

Ultimately, Woro2k was dissatisfied with these attempts and decided it was time to leave the team to focus on his personal development and gain new experiences in his career.

He also briefly touched on Monte's shift towards an international roster and their new focus on the Polish esports scene, with four Polish players now on the CS2 team.

According to him, this strategy is better for business in the current climate and will help the organization maintain media popularity if tournament results do not provide sufficient financial support.

Despite the challenging split, Woro2k hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning to Monte in the future.
