Sprout Reinvents Its Lineup: New Signings, Strategic Loan, and Official Roster Revealed for 2024
Sprout has recently made some strategic additions to their lineup, incorporating Kamil "reiko" Cegiełko and Paavo "podi" Heiskanen into their team, with podi joining on loan from ENCE Academy until the end of 2024. Additionally, the team has solidified its ranks by officially bringing Daniil "Sdaim" Tupov on board after a successful trial period.
This roster update follows the departure of Anton "Anlelele" Huynh and Emil "sL1m3" Stolz due to underwhelming performances and frequent lineup changes, which led to Sprout's fall to the 80th position in the global rankings. Reiko's transition to Sprout comes after his stint with Anonymo, which concluded when the organization disbanded its team at the end of January. During his time with Anonymo, reiko maintained a commendable 1.13 rating and has already represented Sprout in several competitions, including two IEM Dallas 2024 Europe Open Qualifiers and a YaLLa Compass Spring 2024 Contenders match, albeit ending in an early exit against Alliance.
Podi's move to Sprout, on loan from ENCE Academy, has caught the attention of many, given his standout performances with the Finnish team over nearly two years. His exceptional play earned him recognition in this year's notable predictions by Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Guy "NertZ" Iluz.
Sdaim completes the Sprout lineup, joining the team initially on a trial basis after the disbandment of The Witchers in January. With 23 maps played for Sprout, his contributions have been significant enough to secure a permanent spot on the team.
The updated Sprout roster now consists of:
- Rasmus "raalz" Steensborg (Denmark)
- Jan "cej0t" Dyl (Poland)
- Daniil "Sdaim" Tupov (Ukraine)
- Kamil "reiko" Cegiełko (Poland)
- Paavo "podi" Heiskanen (Finland, on loan)
With Danny "BERRY" Krüger (Denmark) serving as the coach and Emil "sL1m3" Stolz (Denmark) moved to the bench, Sprout is poised to climb the ranks and improve their standing in the competitive scene.
