A Counter-Strike weapon skin priced at $400k is probably the most expensive skin in gaming history
The most expensive weapon skin in the world for the game Counter Strike: Global Offensive has been sold for $400,000. The skin, known as the Case Hardened for the AK-47, features four holographic Titan images and was used in the Katowice 2014 tournament.
Since the release of Counter-Strike 2, the skin market in CS:GO has been rapidly growing, with investors and collectors willing to pay more and more for the rarest and most coveted items.
Fans of the game Counter Strike: Global Offensive live in their own reality, where they are willing to spend sums of money on skins that could buy them real estate or a luxury car. For example, in March, a Chinese collector bought the AK-47 Wild Lotus skin for $160,000, which sparked wide discussion in the gaming community.
However, now the Case Hardened skin for the AK-47 has broken the previous record by more than double, selling for $500,000. It's worth noting that it took about six months to find a buyer, as the skin was put up for sale in November 2022.
The intermediary in this deal was the well-known CS:GO trader and streamer zipeL. In addition to the AK-47 skin, the buyer also purchased a Karambit Case Hardened Blue Gem knife worth about $100,000.
