Kingfisher steps down as head coach of Grayhound Gaming
The Australian eSports organization Grayhound Gaming has announced the departure of Kingfisher from the position of head coach of the CS:GO roster. The 26-year-old Australian has been in charge of the team since last September, but has been with the squad since the Renegades days.
From being a huge asset in rebuilding the team during the coronavirus era, to all the hard work and success in numerous majors, local and online tournaments... We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
Kingfisher will lead the Renegades squad in the summer of 2021. Having survived the transition first to ORDER and then to Grayhound Gaming, the 26-year-old Australian specialist helped the team win DreamHack Open September 2021: Oceania, ESL ANZ Champs Season 14, ESL ANZ Champs Season 15 and ESL Pro League Season 17: Oceanic Conference, and also get into the top three at PGL Major Antwerp 2022: Asia-Pacific RMR, Fortress OCE Masters 2022 and Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: Asia-Pacific RMR.
In addition, under his leadership, the team took part in PGL Major Stockholm 2021 (20-22nd place), PGL Major Antwerp 2022 (23-24th place) and Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022 (20-22nd place). However, after a failure at the last Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023, the specialist decided to leave the team and start looking for a new club.
Parting ways with Grayhound Gaming. These past two years have been an amazing experience, I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to share this journey. I am looking for opportunities to work as an assistant or head coach in an English-speaking organization, wrote Kingfisher.
These changes come at a difficult time for the Australian club. Very soon, the team will take part in the ESL Pro League Season 17, and will also begin its journey as part of the qualifying process for the RMR tournament.
