Rumors: zakk may lead Imperial Esports
According to GameArena.GG, the Brazilian esports organization Imperial Esports intends to sign zakk to the position of head coach of their CS:GO roster. The 31-year-old Brazilian, whose contract with 9z ended on December 31st, is set to replace fnx. This is expected to be the second roster change in early 2023 as the club also buys JOTA from MIBR.
According to a source, Imperial Esports was already interested in the services of zakk last summer, when it parted ways with peacemaker. But then the parties failed to agree. At the same time, the specialist already has experience working with chelo and boltz, whom he led at Luminosity Gaming and Immortals, respectively.
zakk has spent the last three years as the head coach of 9z. During this time, the 31-year-old Brazilian specialist helped the team become the winner of WESG 2021 Latin America: LatAM South, FiReLEAGUE 2021, BLAST Rising LATAM 2021 and FiReLEAGUE 2022: Argentinian League, as well as get into the top three at DreamHack Open September 2021: South America, ESL Challenger #48, CCT South America Series #1, Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: American RMR and FiReLEAGUE 2022: Global Finals.
In addition, under his leadership, 9z made it to PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022.
As it became known earlier, fnx plans to leave the team and return to the scene as a player, but in a different organization. In addition, Imperial Esports has almost completed the signing of JOTA, which will replace the retiring fer.
The Brazilian team will soon return from vacation to take part in the ESL Pro League Season 17: South American Conference. At the same time, Imperial Esports will receive an additional day of rest, as they have directly qualified for the upper bracket finals due to their high seeding.
