OG presented CS:GO academy
An unusual and interesting announcement has appeared on the OG website for fans of both the European eSports organization and for fans of their CS:GO roster in particular. Now OG will also have an academic staff. It included not the most experienced representatives of the CS:GO scene, namely Arbnor 'Dementor' Pacolli, Alexandru 's0und' Stefan, Max 'Marix' Kugener, Blagoi 'Oxygen' Dimitrov, Kaloyan 'shaiK' Borisov. The players will be mentored by the famous German e-sportsman Christian 'crisby' Schmitt. The latter played under the tag of many esports clubs, including ALTERNATE aTTaX, EURONICS Gaming, mTw, PENTA Sports and even mousesports and others. The total crisby prize money was almost $74,000, and the path of a mentor in the professional CS scene began in the decade before last, when everyone played CS 1.6.
The collection of the five players was entrusted to crisby, Kasper 'ruggah' Du and Alexander 'kakafu' Szymanczyk. The average age of players does not exceed 20 years. The leadership has set itself the task of cultivating young talents.
Blagoy 'Oxygen' Dimitrov stands out among the players. The Bulgarian started his career as a professional CS:GO player in 2019 and has played in teams such as TDR Gaming, Mortal Kombat and SKADE. As part of the latter, he achieved almost all the successes and won seven victories in not the smallest events, where the team received cash prizes of various sizes. In addition, the team became the champion of the first season of REPUBLEAGUE, where the main cash prize was $48,486. Over the course of his career, Oxygen has earned over $36,000, which contrasts with other players such as Dementor or Marix. Arbnor 'Dementor' Pacolli didn't even hit the $5,500 mark in prize money, while Max 'Marix' Kügener made nearly $11,000 in total. Marix, by the way, became the champion of ESL Meisterschaft Spring 2022 a month ago as part of Sprout.
Team coach Christian 'crisby' Schmitt commented on the announcement:
Finally able to present to you the prodigies that we have picked up. It was a long journey with open applications from February until now. We had above 400 applications that were trimmed down to 40 people. After that we had tryouts going on for about three weeks to find our final five.
I think we have good mix between really young “unexperienced” and already more established players to do well in WePlay and other tournaments we might participate in. The goal is always to win but it is work and progress. I will give my best to bring the players to the next level and get them ready for the big boys in Tier 1.
An interesting mix, according to the management, is promising and viewers can already evaluate the abilities of the new roster as part of the ongoing WePlay Academy League Season 4. At the time of writing, OG Academy are fighting with Eternal Fire Academy.
