Jamppi denies CS:GO return rumors
Jamppi, who currently plays on Team Liquid's VALORANT roster, has denied rumors of a return to CS:GO. In an interview for Run It Back, the 20-year-old Finnish esportsman said that he has no plans to change the discipline yet.
When I moved to VALORANT, I said in one of the interviews that I would most likely return to CS:GO someday. I estimated the probability of this at 75%. It was a year ago. Now I want to prove to myself that people are wrong.
I had the opportunity to play CS at the highest level when I couldn't play it. In fact, I never showed my best level. You can say that I have unfinished business in CS:GO. This is what makes me come back at some point. But I won't do that until I've achieved all my dreams in VALORANT.
Yes, it's possible, but things can change. I can't predict the future and see where VALORANT and CS:GO will be in a year. I'm one of those guys who live in the present. Right now I have no desire to return to CS. I am very dedicated to VALORANT and I want to win everything in this scene.
Jamppi played in CS:GO from 2017 to 2020. The 20-year-old Finnish esportsman made a name for himself with SJ Gaming, after which he moved to ENCE. However, after nine months spent as part of the Finnish giant, the player left the team.
Joining the Team Liquid team, the 20-year-old Finnish esportsman managed to win the VCT 2021: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers Finals, VCT 2021: Europe Stage 3 Challengers 2 and Red Bull Home Ground #2, as well as visit the VCT 2021: Stage playoffs 2 Masters - Reykjavík, VALORANT Champions 2021 and VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík.
It should be noted that in early May, during a live broadcast, the esportsman hinted at his return to competitive CS:GO. However, Jamppi later removed the recording of the stream.
Jamppi is currently playing with Team Liquid at VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers. Based on the results of two weeks of competition, the European team has two wins.
