daps announced the breakup of Orgless
Canadian player daps announced the breakup of the Orgless team. The 28-year-old esportsman announced this on his Twitter, sharing his thoughts on the future of the North American scene.
Today our team decided to split up and will no longer compete together in CS. I will cover some of the reasons that led to this and also share my understanding of CS in NA compared to what it once was, so that it will hopefully improve and provide more options for the next generation.
This project started with RUSH and I wanting to form a team in NA, even knowing that we would play for free for a while. RUSH received an offer from EG very quickly, which almost made me close the project, as I knew how difficult it would be for the team to progress at a good rate without experienced players, and also the fact that none of us played CS together. In the end I decided to continue because I like to compete and my coach and I at the time wanted to see if we could make it to the RMR/Major.
Our results on the RMR were pretty poor and we didn't hit the target we set out to and we couldn't find an organization that could offer the support needed to accelerate this team's progress as all the clubs I spoke to couldn't put together bootcamp for us. Shortly after that, our coach left, which was understandable given the current climate in NA and the fact that he had to be paid.
I would like to thank Minus, Swisher, Lucid, Bwills, Koosta, Infinite, SATURN for trying to build a team from scratch with me in a short amount of time.
As for me, I'll take a short break.
The Orgless team was formed at the beginning of 2022. In three months, the North American team won ESEA Cash Cup: North America - Winter 2022 #3 and ESEA Cash Cup: North America - Winter 2022 #6, and also reached the playoffs of ESL Challenger League Season 40: North America.
Orgless' final line-up looked like this:
- daps.
- minus.
- bwills.
- koosta.
