Apoka left coaching position at MIBR
Brazilian esports organization MIBR has announced its parting ways with Apoka. The 36-year-old Brazilian specialist led the team during the last season.
Apoka took over MIBR last January from the BOOM Esports organization. However, during the season, the specialist failed to bring the team to a new level. In particular, under his leadership, MIBR won only ESEA Season 39: Advanced Division - North America, and also made it to the top three at Battle of Betway #2, iBUYPOWER Mythic Masters Winter 2021 and CBCS Finals 2021.
However, the 36-year-old is set to retire and pursue a career as a streamer. The main reason for leaving the coaching role in MIBR is the ban on participation in championships sponsored by Valve. Recall that Apoka got into a coaching scandal in the fall of 2020, having received a ban for 5.4 months.
BIT is considered the main candidate to replace Apoka in MIBR. The 31-year-old Brazilian has spent the last two seasons with 9z, winning with the WESG 2021 Latin America team: LatAM South, Alpha Pro League 2021, FiReLEAGUE 2021 and BLAST Rising LATAM 2021. Recall that BIT has already represented the MIBR colors in the CS 1.6 discipline.
MIBR needs to make a decision as soon as possible, because in a week the team will perform at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022. The Brazilian team got into the same group with NAVI, OG and Astralis.
The MIBR line-up is currently as follows:
- chelo.
- exit.
- WOOD7.
- Tuurtle.
- JOTA.
