groove will continue to coach Gambit after PGL Major Stockholm 2021
groove will continue to coach Gambit after PGL Major Stockholm 2021. The current sports director of the Russian organization shared his plans for the future in an interview with ceh9's YouTube channel. This decision was caused by the inability of F_1N to work with the roster in many tournaments after his participation in the coaching scandal.
We see great difficulty in the fact that F_1N is banned for life not only at the Major, but at all qualifying tournaments. If the championship schedule returns to normal, then 4 out of 10-11 months of the year will be covered by RMR tournaments and the Major itself. In such a situation, the constant changes of the coach will not bear fruit. We noticed certain difficulties when our rearrangement with F_1N took place in August-September. F_1N and I see CS 90% the same, but the preparation methodology and working moments are different. These differences force the team to rebuild, which makes it hard to adapt and takes at least a month to find the right thread.
As a reminder, groove has already trained Gambit from October 2020 to July 2021. During the work of the specialist, the Russian team climbed to the first line of the world ranking, and also won DreamHack Open November 2020, Intel Extreme Masters XV - World Championship, Pinnacle Cup I, BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2021, Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Summer and BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2021, and also took second place in ESL Pro League Season 13 and DreamHack Masters Spring 2021.
Currently, the 38-year-old is leading the team at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, as F_1N, who took over the reins of Gambit in the summer, cannot attend the championship due to the above reasons.
