Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, released back in November, has been not only one of the worst games of the year, but in entire franchise. And it’s been the case about the game’s quality, low sales and reviews from both players and critics.

Activision definitely needs to work on the mistakes, and the publisher are already made a statement regarding the future of their massive franchise. The most important words from their statement are that we won’t see back-to-back Modern Warfare and Black Ops games anymore. It actually makes sense considering Modern Warfare III and Black Ops 7 didn’t impress players at all.

"We will no longer do back-to-back releases of Modern Warfare or Black Ops games. The reasons are many, but the main one is to ensure we provide an absolutely unique experience each and every year.

We will drive innovation that is meaningful, not incremental. While we aren’t sharing those plans today, we look forward to doing so when the time is right.
