TSM and Cloud9 plan to create youth squads
North American esports organization TSM is looking to expand its presence in the competitive shooter from Riot Games VALORANT with a youth squad, as evidenced by the latest report from Upcomer.
While the organization has yet to sign any players to its youth squad, the project received the green light after "being discussed internally for some time," the report said.
This team will most likely serve as a backup for the core team if one of the core team members needs to be replaced. The academy's lineup is likely to showcase some promising talent on the North American scene.
Other organizations, such as Cloud9, can also form a youth squad, as highlighted in the same Upcomer report.
Note that one of the most famous teams in North America, T1, already has a youth roster in VALORANT. The team was originally signed on June 11 last year and is formed around current NRG player eeiu and former player Dignitas rara.
More recently, youth squads have proven their effectiveness as an opportunity for young talents to break into the main squad. dawn, who previously played for T1 Academy, was transferred to the main team after the departure of Spyder, who is recovering from health problems.
We add that the project has not yet been confirmed by TSM, but an official announcement may appear in the near future.
