What’s Changed?

  • Reduced Slide CountNeon can now perform only one slide instead of two, significantly reducing her mobility and forcing players to be more strategic in using this ability.
  • Reduced Accuracy While SlidingSliding will no longer provide full accuracy, making it harder to land shots on enemies during the maneuver.
  • Tighter Ultimate TimingsThe timing for her ultimate ability has been adjusted, requiring precise activation to maximize its impact.
  • Increased Ultimate CostThe number of points required to activate her ultimate has been raised to 8, making it less frequently available.

Why Did Riot Decide to Nerf Neon?

Neon has been a favorite among players for her high mobility and ability to quickly reposition, making her a challenging target. However, these advantages often led to criticism about her being overpowered, especially in competitive play. The nerf aims to bring her abilities within a more balanced framework, emphasizing tactical decision-making. In the previous patch, Riot Games barely touched Neon, leaving many players eagerly awaiting this nerf for the overly annoying and frustrating agent in the game.

How Will These Changes Impact Gameplay?

The reduction in slide count and accuracy makes Neon less effective in surprise attacks and reduces her ability to land shots while moving. Tighter ultimate timings and increased activation cost will make her ultimate a rarer but more calculated tool. Players will need to adapt their strategies to make the most out of the adjusted skill set.
