Made in Thailand wins AfreecaTV SEA Invitational
Came to the end of the AfreecaTV SEA Invitational. As part of the competition, which was held online from November 29 to December 4, sixteen teams from Southeast Asia competed for a total prize pool of $25,000. The winner of the tournament was the Made in Thailand team, which in the grand final was stronger than Bigetron Arctic with a score of 3:0 (Breeze - 13:4; Ascent - 14:12; Fracture - 13:8).
The competition for the Thai team began with a confident performance at the group stage, during which Made in Thailand outplayed Team NKT twice (13:8; 13:10), but at the same time lost to Bigetron Arctic (12:14).
Having made it to the playoffs, the team first beat FW ESPORTS (2:0), and then dealt with BOOM Esports (2:0) and made it to the grand final. Here, the team of Leaf confidently outplayed Bigetron Arctic (3:0) to become the winner of the AfreecaTV SEA Invitational and earn a prize of $7,500.
Note that the tournament turned out to be a failure for several favorites at once. In particular, nothing worked out for the new Rex Regum Qeon roster, which did not even make it to the playoffs. The teams BOOM Esports and Bleed eSports, which are one of the strongest representatives of their region, also failed.
