Cloud9 unveiled roster for 2023 season
The North American esports organization Cloud9 has officially unveiled the VALORANT roster for the next competitive season. As a result, the club signed contracts with yay and Zellsis, and also announced the appointment of mCe as head coach.
The main acquisition of the organization is yay. The 24-year-old American spent the last season with OpTic Gaming, where he became the winner of VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík, and also made it to the TOP-3 at the end of VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin, VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: North America Stage 1 Challengers, VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: North America Stage 2 Challengers, VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen and VALORANT Champions 2022.
Together with him, Zellsis joined Cloud9. The American esportsman made a name for himself as part of Version1, where he spent a season and a half. Here he managed to win the Knights Monthly Gauntlet - March, take second place in the VCT 2021: North America Stage 2 Challengers Finals, and also take part in the VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavík.
mCe has been appointed as the new head coach of the team. The 31-year-old spent the last season at the helm of The Guard — together with the team he managed to win the Nerd Street Gamers: Winter Championship - Open 14 and VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: North America Stage 1 Challengers, as well as reach the finals of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: North America Last Chance Qualifier.
Cloud9 has partnered with Riot Games and will take part in the top competitive ecosystem alongside Sentinels, 100 Thieves, NRG Esports, Evil Geniuses, FURIA, LOUD, MIBR, Leviatán Esports, and KRÜ Esports.
