Cryocells may join 100 Thieves
According to insider George Geddes, the North American esports organization 100 Thieves intends to sign a contract with Cryocells. The club is currently in the final stages of signing the XSET star.
Cryocells spent the last season with XSET. Together with the team, the 19-year-old American player became the champion of Nerd Street Gamers: Winter Championship, Nerd Street Gamers: Summer Championship - Philadelphia and VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: North America Stage 2 Challengers, and also took part in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen (7th-8th place) and VALORANT Champions 2022 (5th-6th place).
However, the XSET organization did not make it to the final list of VCT 2023 partners for America, nor was it able to sell the roster to G2 Esports. As a result, the club announced it was disbanding its squad, allowing players to explore individual offers.
In turn, 100 Thieves has become a partner of Riot Games and will take part in the top competitive ecosystem along with Sentinels, Cloud9, NRG Esports, Evil Geniuses, FURIA, LOUD, MIBR, Leviatán Esports and KRÜ Esports.
International leagues kick off with the VCT 2023: Kickoff Tournament in February, featuring all 30 partner teams from Asia, America and Europe.
It's unclear which player will take over from Cryocells in the 100 Thieves roster. 100 Thieves, like other clubs, is required to submit a squad of at least six players (maximum 10).
It is noteworthy that 100 Thieves was interested in Cryocells at the beginning of the season, but then decided to opt for ec1s. Well, after a while, the 19-year-old American player accepted the offer from XSET, having spent his strongest year in his career.
Current 100 Thieves VALORANT roster:
- Asuna
- Derrek
