PUBG will switch to a free model
The Krafton company announced that the game will switch to a fashionable distribution model - free to play. This means that the game will be available to everyone, but at the same time a subscription function will appear in it, which will give additional benefits to its owners. The date of the transition of the game to the shareware model is January 12, 2022. This will apply to both players on computers and console users.
The subscription model will be called Battlegrounds Plus. This option will give all premium owners access to many new and exclusive in-game features. Battleground Plus can be purchased once for $ 13 and will give owners the following bonuses:
- bonus 1,300 G-COIN
- Experience for Survival Mastery + 100% boost
- tab "Career - Medals"
- ranked mode
- custom matches
- in-game items, including the Captain's Camouflage Set, which includes a hat, camouflage mask, and gloves
The developers believe it is time to move PUBG to a free model after the game has sold 75,000,000 copies. Game owners who purchased the title before January 22 will receive a bonus pack that will allow them to upgrade their account to Battleground Plus, along with a set of Hardened Veteran skins and nameplates, and a Shackle and Shanks pan.
On a special site, you can pre-register to participate in the Free-to-play game and promotions, where you can invite friends and receive bonuses for this.
The game was released on Steam in Early Access on March 23, 2017. On September 4, the title was fully released, and on February 9 and March 19, 2018, the game was released on iOS along with Android, respectively. Battle Royale became the parent of the genre, resulting in several similar titles being released soon after.
