Hisuian Typhlosion Roars into Action: A Fiery Challenge Awaits in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet!
Beginning in early November, players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will get the opportunity to confront Hisuian Typhlosion the Unrivaled in the forthcoming batch of seven-star Tera raid battles. This introduction of Hisuian Typhlosion into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet follows the trend of final form Starter Pokemon appearing as Tera raid bosses, ready for players to challenge and capture.
Referred to as the Ghost Flame Pokemon, Hisuian Typhlosion is the ultimate evolution of Cyndaquil, which originally made its debut in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. In contrast to its Johtonian counterpart, which is purely a Fire-type, Hisuian Typhlosion boasts a dual typing of Ghost and Fire. However, the Ghost Flame Pokemon shares similar special attack and speed stats with the original. When the original Typhlosion took on the role of a Tera raid boss in April 2023, it had the Ghost type as its Tera attribute as a nod to Hisuian Typhlosion. In a twist, Hisuian Typhlosion will have the Fire-Tera type, making some of its attacks more challenging to handle. Pokemon trainers eager to take on Hisuian Typhlosion won't have to wait much longer, as the battle begins shortly after another Ghost-type Pokemon steps out of the spotlight.
The clash against Hisuian Typhlosion the Unrivaled occurs just two days after the ongoing Mismagius Halloween Tera raids conclude in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The event kicks off on Thursday, November 2, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and wraps up on Sunday, November 5, at 7:59 p.m. Eastern. For those who miss their chance during that weekend, there's another opportunity the following week, from November 9 to November 12, at the same times.
Similar to the Hisuian Deciduye Tera raids, defeating Hisuian Typhlosion will earn you the Mightiest Mark. As a special attacker, Hisuian Typhlosion wields Infernal Parade as its signature move, which has a chance to inflict Burn on the target and deals double damage to targets under a status condition. Additionally, its Tera type enhances the power of Fire-type attacks like Flamethrower, Eruption, and Fire Blast. Hisuian Typhlosion can also employ moves such as Low Kick, Focus Blast, Sunny Day, and Solar Beam to cover various types. However, its Hidden Ability, Frisk, is irrelevant in a Tera raid battle, so players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can safely overlook it.
While it may be one of the toughest Tera raid battles in the history of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, trainers employing Pokemon like Politoed, Blissey, Umbreon, or Walking Wake should have the capability to defeat the Ghost Flame Pokemon. The outcome of this battle remains to be seen, and only time will reveal the true challenges it holds.
