Tracer Returns to Overwatch 2 Stadium

After a brief removal due to a game-breaking bug, Tracer has officially been re-enabled in Overwatch 2 Stadium. Players can once again pick the iconic damage hero in one of the game’s most chaotic modes.

⚡ Tracer’s Comeback in Stadium

During the mid-Season 18 update, Blizzard initially planned to introduce support hero Wuyang into Stadium, similar to how Freja was added in an earlier patch. However, the developers decided to delay Wuyang’s debut in favor of bringing back more fan-favorite heroes first — and Tracer was at the top of the list.

Unfortunately, her initial arrival didn’t go smoothly. A game-breaking glitch forced Blizzard to disable her on September 18, only days after release. It wasn’t until September 22, following a fix confirmed by game director Aaron Keller, that Tracer was restored to Stadium.

🛠️ The Recall Bug Explained

The bug revolved around Tracer’s Recall ability, which normally lets her return to her position and health from three seconds earlier. However, in Stadium, the system didn’t account for health changes tied to buying and selling items.

This created a loophole:

• Tracer could purchase defensive upgrades to boost her HP.
• Sell them immediately after.
• Then use Recall to regain the extra health while keeping her item slots and Stadium Cash.

The result? Some players managed to stack well over 1,500 health, turning Tracer into an unkillable menace. Needless to say, Blizzard had to step in quickly.

🚀 What’s Next for Stadium

The fun doesn’t stop here. With Season 19 launching on October 14, Stadium is expected to get another wave of heroes — likely three at launch and one more in the midseason update. While Blizzard hasn’t confirmed the lineup, community speculation points toward Sojourn and Torbjörn as strong candidates.
