Overwatch 2 Player Discovers Secret Hiding Spot on Esperanca Map for Tactical Advantage
An Overwatch 2 player recently uncovered a little-known hiding spot on the Esperanca map that could offer a strategic advantage in matches. In Overwatch 2, positioning is key, and the high ground provided by this hidden perch might help players gain an edge in skirmishes.
Esperanca, a vibrant map inspired by Portuguese architecture, was introduced with the launch of Overwatch 2 for the new Push mode, joining Colosseo and New Queen Street. The map’s city setting offers plenty of vantage points, allowing players to target opponents moving the robot along the open streets. Despite being available for nearly two years, some players have only just highlighted a hidden spot that could be tactically beneficial.
Reddit user malinusha shared a screenshot of the terrace they stumbled upon during a game. They discovered the spot after "randomly landing there." The location, found near the center of the map above a room with a health pack, had previously gone unnoticed due to its height. Accessing the area requires specific hero abilities, such as Widowmaker’s grappling hook or Echo’s flight.
When malinusha posted about the find on the Overwatch subreddit, they claimed they had never seen anyone utilize this hiding spot on Esperanca. The post quickly gained traction, receiving over 2.2K upvotes. While some players mentioned they had used the spot before, many were unaware of its existence until seeing the Reddit post.
With the discovery gaining attention, this hidden terrace may become a popular strategic point, especially for long-range heroes like Ashe or Widowmaker. Its elevated position and partial cover could make it a challenging spot for opponents to counter.
As Season 12 of Overwatch 2 progresses, it will be interesting to see if players uncover more hidden features. Blizzard recently introduced two new maps for the Clash game mode, which may hold additional secret spots waiting to be discovered.
