Overwatch 2 players will receive new heroes immediately after purchasing the battle pass

After the announcement of the Watchpoint Pack for Overwatch 2, fans of this game have paid special attention to what they offer fans of Activision Blizzard. Players who purchase the Battle Pass will receive various bonuses and a premium version that allows them to immediately unlock the new characters introduced in Overwatch 2.

The first new hero to be playable will be Kiriko's support character.

In the Overwatch 2 community, concerns immediately began to arise regarding the method of monetizing the battle pass and further curtailing content for ordinary players. However, overwatch commercial head John Spector, who is also vice president of Blizzard, decided to eliminate concerns:

Regarding the previously released incomplete information about the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass, we will share all the details before the launch of the game, but we want to assure that new heroes will also be available in the free version of the Battle Pass.

The players asked what will happen to that part of the audience that does not have time to upgrade the free battle pass to the required level to get a new character. Jon Spector said that they will have other options for getting new heroes after the end of the game season.

Overwatch 2 is scheduled to release on October 4, 2022. The game will have to visit all relevant platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and previous generation consoles: PlayStation 4, Xbox One. Overwatch 2 should differ from its predecessor by having a full-fledged PvE campaign, but at launch it will only have PvP mode for now.
