P3t9L retired from Overwatch
Abraham 'P3t9L' Khan has taken to Twitter to announce his retirement from Overwatch. He became one of the youngest esportsmen to do so. A month ago, the player turned 19 years old.
Khan began his journey as a professional Overwatch player in 2020 under the Global Esports tag. Later, he managed to perform in such teams as Odyssey, Skyfoxed, DarkMode Esports, Noble, Obey Alliance, UT Dallas Comets, DarkMode NA, Jiyu, Avidity, Altiora, Third Impact, Dice Gaming and even visited Hugh's Money Crew as a rented esportsman.
The biggest achievement of the player in his career was the 3rd place in Contenders 2021 NA Season 2 - June. There, his team received a cash reward of $5,000. For the entire journey, the esportsman managed to earn $6,308.
Abraham Khan wrote a post on TwitLonger in which he talked about the reasons for leaving esports. He considers the investment of his time not worth the result that he receives from the game:
I just don't want to waste my time on something that didn't lead me to anything other than physical and mental damage with no promising end result. I missed out on so much because I kept playing this game and people told me I was good enough for it.
Khan has prioritized communication in the game, but is saddened that hopes were not met:
I'm just sad, I had so much hope that I could make it and I was always trying to keep in touch with everyone in the game just to get better and it was all just wasted.
P3t9L decided he should move on and leave his Overwatch career.
I want to move on to better things, so I'll still be in touch if anyone ever wants to let me know about anything, but I think I'd rather stay away indefinitely. I just can't do any of this anymore, I'm really tired of it.
The esportsman also separately thanked Saltshaker, Vanny, Aspen and Kai for the joint path and the difficulties that he went through with the above-mentioned representatives of the Overwatch industry.
