CD Project RED started to profit from Cyberpunk 2077 at the start of the release

CD Project RED told Polish media that Cyberpunk 2077 is selling very well. She was able to recoup the costs of production and advertising campaign until the end of 2020 even at the pre-order stage. Thus, the new title began to make a net profit from the very start. The developers decided to leave the exact amounts of revenue and costs behind a veil of secrecy.

Earlier it became known that gamers made more than 8,000,000 pre-orders, 59% of which fell on the version for computers. CD Project RED reported that Steam sales brought in over $ 50,000,000, which allows them to now receive 80% of sales revenue instead of 70%.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on the night of December 9-10 on all current platforms. The game is available in Backward Compatibility mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
