HotS teams get $3,2 mln from Blizzard
Blizzard company accolades $3,2 mln for Heroes Global Championship money reward. An average payment for a roster is $100,000. The organization added that all Pro League teams will get the reward despite their position in HGC ratings.
The first information about guaranteed payment appeared during the BlizzCon's Opening Week on October 26. Later, esports product manager Sam "Milkfat" Braithwaite confirmed this statement.
In 2017, the organization will support Pro League teams from North American, Europe, China and South Korea. If the team falls to the 7-8 place in HGC or loses Crucible tournament against rosters from the open rank, the team may lose the privilege of sponsorship. In this way, a winner takes a vacant place in Pro League and gets a financial support from Blizzard. League of Legend developers act in the same way. They also pay a certain sum of money to the teams. A part of this sum is used to pay guaranteed rewards for the roster members, and a part is used to cover all the expenses.
