The past few days, we’ve all been enjoying various streams and panels from San Diego Comic Con. Many of these included panels from Blizzard Entertainment, Lootcrate, and even Niantic’s Pokemon Go. Lootcrate, in particular, held interviews with several members of the community, including Matthew Mercer and Marisha Ray of Geek and Sundry’s Critical Role.

The interview began with discussion over Matthew Mercer’s role in Overwatch, as we’ve all heard those fated three words before, “It’s high noon”. If you have heard this, that was Mercer’s voice saying it. However, as the interview took place near the Blizzard booth, the topic of Hearthstone came up. Mercer mentioned that there will be “a Hearthstone-based show that I will be co-hosting” coming up soon.

To have a figure like Matthew Mercer as a voice, both literally and figuratively, of the Hearthstone community would be a fantastic step in the right direction.

In fact, just a few days ago, Geek & Sundry posted this to their website, officially announcing their new weekly Hearthstone show, “Worthy Opponents”. The show will be hosted by eSports host Rachel “Seltzer” Quirico, and co-hosted by none other than Matthew Mercer. Each of these two will chose a player to send into battle, and one will come out victorious as Tavern Master.

Be sure to stay updated with Geek & Sundry news as to when this show will be airing. For now, all we know is that it will take place in the fall.
