Update 24.2 is out now in Hearthstone

Today is the penultimate day of summer, and so that users do not miss the past season, Blizzard has released a major patch for everyone's favorite TCG. Earlier, we made a brief overview of the update, in which we talked about the new mechanics in BG - “Tasks”, and the new currency - “Runestones”. Today we will talk in more detail about the Battlegrounds mode, since the patch is mostly focused on the Battlegrounds.

Creature changes

With the new patch, we are waiting for replenishment in the general pool of creatures, most of the class units belong to the Demons, which have recently been feeling very weak compared to other archetypes.

Demons

Picky Eater - Battlecry: Consume a random minion from Bob's tavern and gain its stats (gold - gains double stats).

Mind Muck - Battlecry: Choose your Demon. It consumes a creature from Bob's tavern and gains its stats (gold gets double stats).

Piggyback Imp - Deathrattle: Summons 4/1 Imps (Gold - 8/2 Imps).

Legion Overseer - Creatures in Bob's tavern have +2/+2 (gold - +4/+4).

dragons

Nether Drake - At the end of your turn, your Dragons gain +1 Attack (Gold - +2 Attack).

Amber Guardian - Combat Start: Your other Dragon gets +3/+3 and Divine Shield (Gold - +6/+6).

Pirates

First Mate Pip - You only need 2 copies of this creature to make it golden.

Neutral Creatures

Treasure-Seeker Elise - After you upgrade the tavern 5 times, you find a Golden Monkey (Gold - 2 Golden Monkeys). Golden Monkey: 6/6 with Taunt (it's always golden and gives you a triplet dig when played).

Rendle the Mistermind - At the end of your turn, steal the highest level minion from Bob's tavern (gold - 2 minions).

Tortollan Blue Shell - If you lost your last fight, this creature sells for 5 gold (gold for 10 gold).

Tea Master Theotar - After you play a creature with no creature type, your 3 creatures of different types get +2/+2 (gold - +4/+4).

Due to the addition of new ones, several old creatures were removed from the general pool: Nutty Chemist, Time Steward, Bubble, Greyback Patriarch, Vile Imp, Nathrezim Taskmaster, Soul Eater, Sea Smuggler, Zerus the Werewolf, Cobalt Destroyer, Enchantedwing Matron, Mythrax Unraveler and Murloc Spy.

In addition, the three creatures changed their tavern levels

Imp Guardian goes to tier 1 instead of tier 2 (stats now 2/2, previously 3/3).

Impulsive rogue goes to t2 instead of t1 (stats now 2/3, before 2/2).

Draconid Punisher goes to t4 instead of t3 (stats now 3/7, previously 2/4).

The Poison Fin has returned to replace the departed Murloc Spy.

Hero Change

The update will bring us both a rework of the old heroes and two new ones known to us from the ladder.

Sir Denathrius - Passive Hero Power. At the beginning of the game, choose one of two tasks.

Murloc Holmes - Look at 2 creatures. Guess which one your next opponent had in the last fight to get a coin.

Rakanishu - the ability now costs 1 gold (previously - 2). The creature gets a stat equal to its tavern level (previously, YOUR creature got stats equal to YOUR tavern level). Moved to tier-3 armor.

Patchwork - Starts with 60 Health (was 55). Moved to tier-2 armor.

Vanndar - Passive Hero Power: Vengeance (2): Your minions gain +1 Health permanently. Moved to armor tier-1.

Drek'Thar - Passive Hero Power: Vengeance (3): Your minions gain +1 Attack permanently. Moved to tier-2 armor.

Aranna the Stargazer - Improved Hero Power - Passive: Bob's tavern will always have 7 minions (even after buying a minion).

Mushroommancer Flurgle - Passive Hero Power: After you sell 4 creatures, you get a random Murloc. Moved to tier-2 armor.

Sky Captain Kragg - The text of the Hero Power has not changed, but now it can give more than 10 gold.

Stormwing - (Westfall) - Now gives +2/+1 leftmost creature (was +2 ATK), (Eastern Plaguelands) - Tavern upgrade will cost (6) less (was 5 less).

As we wrote in the previous article, now there will be a separate battle pass for Battlegrounds with two variations of rewards. By purchasing BP with runestones or real currency, players will receive more gifts and cosmetic items, in the case of the free option, the number of rewards will be less.

Separately, I would like to note that the patch brings not very bright news, now the choice of 4 heroes will be available only to owners of the paid BP variation, the free version will include only 2 heroes. The only plus is that now the new released heroes will be available immediately to all players, regardless of the type of BP.
