The developers will release the biggest update for the "Battlefields" mode

Heathstone is getting its biggest Battlegrounds update yet.

Since November 2019, Battlegrounds has grown into one of Hearthstone 's most popular and beloved game modes. For many players, Battlegrounds has become the primary way to play Hearthstone, and with Update 24.2 coming out on August 30th, it will bring some of the biggest changes to Battlegrounds we've ever seen!

The developers will provide Battlegrounds players with their own reward scale, a new season pass, experience that can be exchanged for rewards, as well as new heroes and characters!

The developers also answered frequently asked questions related to innovations.

Question: Is there anything I can spend my gold on on the battlefields?

Answer: No, there are no plans to use gold in Battlegrounds in any way. Players who do not want to spend real money or runestones will still be able to receive free rewards on the Battlegrounds Track.

Q: I used to be able to get privileges for gold, why do I need to pay now?

A: We want Battlegroundsto be played and loved for years to come. This change will allow us to continue to support and create content for the growing Battlegrounds community. Although the ability to select one of the four heroes at the beginning of the match becomes paid, all players can still play Battlegrounds for free. We aim to maintain a balance between hero and gameplay so that the choice of four heroes is more about options than power. Additionally, as part of these changes, we're giving away more free Battlegrounds content than ever before. Expanded stats and base emotes are now available to all players, we've ended Hero Early Access so all players can play with the new heroes on Update Day, and there are some free rewards on the Battlegrounds track.

Q: What are runestones?

A: Runestoneswill replace real money purchases for nearly all items in the Hearthstone Store. Some items, such as Pre-Purchase Packs, the Hearthstone Tavern Pass, and Packs (if purchased at the same time), will be available for purchase with cash or Runestones. Certain other select items, such as sets and cosmetic items in the Collection, will continue to be purchasable with gold only. With Runestones, we will be able to offer additional items on a smaller scale, such as the individual Battlegrounds Hero Skins offered in the store with this patch. Runestones will be available in packs of various sizes, including quantities that match our main products (such as the Battlegrounds Season Pass), so you can buy exactly the quantity you need for this product, or you can stock up on more future. With this transformation, the cost of the product does not change - all prices remain the same, they are simply converted into runestones.

Q: Can I earn runestones in the game?

A: No, there are no plans to earn runestones in the game.

Q: How long does it take to complete the Battlegrounds track?

A: TheBattlegrounds track is designed to be completed in a reasonable amount of game time throughout the Battlegrounds season. The first few levels of the Battlegrounds track require 20 XP to complete, and 60 XP per level. There are a total of 40 levels on the track, which require 2000 XP to complete. Each victory in the Battlegrounds game (top 4 finishes) gives you 10 Battlegrounds XP. Every other placement gives 0 experience points on the battlefields. If you want to speed up your progress, be sure to complete the Battlegrounds missions. Each week, you'll receive three Battlegrounds missions, each granting 60 Battlegrounds XP! Any unfinished missions for the week are saved until the end of the season, so even the more casual players on the battlefield can take advantage of their big XP bonuses when they play.

We have calibrated the system to allow a large proportion of our players involved in Battlegrounds to complete the Battlegrounds track by the end of the season. The system is designed in such a way that even the less interested players have a good chance of completing it. If necessary, we will make adjustments in the following seasons.

Q: Can I also get regular XP from Battlegrounds missions?

O: No. You will still earn some Hearthstone Rewards Track XP when you play Battlegrounds, and there will still be some Hearthstone daily and weekly quests that can be completed in Battlegrounds, but Battlegrounds missions will bring only the experience of the "Battlefields".

Q: How does a multi-level strike work? What does a legendary strike entail?

A: We've updated the strikes you know to include even more KABLAM!With the Season Pass, not only do you get the initial 2-tier Crystal Justice Strike, but you can also unlock two more tiers of this Strike. This includes a special effect level when you knock out a player and a second level with an even bigger special effect when you knock out a player to take first place. As you progress along the track, you will unlock each new stage of the same stroke.

Q: What is the Legendary Battlegrounds Hero Skin?

A: Battlegrounds Legendary Hero skins include animated portraits and voice effects.

The developers have big plans for adding new content to Battlegrounds. New heroes, new characters, new events and new systems will keep Battlegrounds interesting and fresh. In addition, they will continue to update all current mechanics. Patch 24.2 is the last major Battlegrounds update for 2022.
