Halo Game Fuel Returns: Celebrating the Legacy of Halo 3 in Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite enthusiasts can soon savor the return of a special edition of Game Fuel with a Halo theme. The revival of Halo Game Fuel coincides with the celebration of Halo 3's legacy in Halo Infinite.
Halo's collaboration with Mountain Dew Game Fuel began with Halo 3 back in 2007, aligning with the release of this iconic game, effectively building anticipation for Bungie's third entry in the Halo series. Initially, this limited-edition Mountain Dew Game Fuel was meant to be a temporary offering. While Game Fuel has returned with promotional flavors for various game launches over the years, including World of Warcraft in 2009, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in 2011, and even Halo 4 in 2012, fans have been longing for another Halo-themed edition, and that wait is now over.
The official Halo Twitter account announced the resurrection of Mountain Dew's Halo Game Fuel in a post. This classic flavor is set to make a comeback on November 6, and a video was shared to generate excitement for its return. The video began with an individual holding a can of the original Halo Game Fuel, adorned with the image of Master Chief and the Halo 3 logo. After a brief moment, the soft drink can was shaken, transitioning to a new iteration of the limited-edition Mountain Dew flavor. The fresh artwork featured a description of "Citrus Cherry" along with images of John-117 donning his Halo Infinite MJOLNIR armor and the AI character known as The Weapon. The logos for Halo Infinite and Xbox adorned the top of the can.
Given the fond memories associated with the initial run of the Halo 3 limited-edition flavor, it's no surprise that many in the gaming community are thrilled about the return of Halo Game Fuel. Following the announcement, numerous nostalgic fans expressed their enthusiasm, resulting in thousands of likes for the Twitter post. The official statement from the Halo account acknowledged the significance of this revival to long-time fans by stating, "Feels like 2007 again."
The news of Halo Game Fuel's return comes as 343 Industries has additional plans for Halo Infinite. Beyond the soft drink flavor, the game will reportedly incorporate in-game references to Mountain Dew, including various cosmetics and a map with a brand-related theme. Moreover, the developer seems to be introducing a playlist featuring Halo 3 maps for fans seeking a nostalgic experience.
It's worth noting that there's more Halo-related news aside from this collaboration with Mountain Dew. Season 5 of Halo Infinite is set to launch on October 17, bringing a fresh battle pass, additional game modes, and new maps. Furthermore, reports suggest that 343 Industries has initiated work on a new campaign for the series. Although the developer has yet to officially confirm details about this upcoming single-player experience, there's clearly a lot on the horizon for Halo fans to anticipate.
