The information appeared that starting from The Kiev Major 2017, Valve will compensate the expenses for only 6 participants of one team. It has a huge negative effect on the teams that do not have a strong sponsor support. For example, a Brazilian team SG e-Sports has qualified to the event, but the team cannot pay for the trip for the coach and manager at their own expenses.
Previously, Valve covered the expenses for trips for 8 members of one team, so the players from the main roster, coach, manager and analyst could visit the event. Many professional players were outraged by this decision. For example, Fear told that they need at least 7 members to perform successfully at the event.
