Gothic is a cult series that has made a great contribution to the gaming industry and in particular to the RPG genre. At one time, games from Piranha Bytes became a real breakthrough thanks to the implementation of a system for simulating the life of ordinary NPCs. The first part of the series was released on March 15, 2001, the second on November 29, 2002, the third on August 22, 2003, and the fourth on October 12, 2010. The last part did not like the critics at all, as it was very crude and differed from its predecessors. On December 12, 2019, a two-hour demo version of the remake of the original game was released. It received rave reviews and after that it was decided to start a full-fledged development.

Risen is a series of games similar to Gothic, but their plot component was much weaker in the opinion of both players and game journalists. Unlike Gothic, Risen could offer a stronger technical aspect of the title, which was expressed in a small number of bugs and good graphics. The first part was particularly breakthrough, while the rest did not bring as many good reviews. Risen was released on October 1, 2009, with a sequel on April 27, 2012 and August 12, 2014, respectively.

Elex is the newest product ever released by Piranha Bytes. The game was released on October 17, 2017. Unlike all its spiritual predecessors, the main idea of Elex is that the player will have to get acquainted with three factions that differ from each other in their ideology and subsequently make a choice in favor of one of them and join the community. Elex takes place in a futuristic future. There, a meteorite fell on the planet Magalan and brought with it the mysterious element Elex, which gives the technique power and is able to give magical power.

There are three main factions to choose from in the game: berserkers, outcasts and clerics. The former are distinguished by their maximum aloofness from technology and are trying to cleanse the planet from Elex with the help of plants. They live in harmony with nature. Outcasts do not have a hierarchical ladder as such, and their motto is "The one who adapts best survives." Unlike Berserkers, Outcasts do not fight Elex, but use it for their own purposes. They construct improvised weapons and create stimulant drugs using this mysterious element. The Clerics are a religious faction that worships the god Kalaan. In their circles, the use of Elex is strictly prohibited. However, the Clerics are fueling sophisticated military technology with this Elex.
