Valve started accepting pre-orders for Steam Deck from users of new accounts
Since the launch of Steam Deck sales, users who have created a Steam account have not had the opportunity to pre-order the console. These precautions were taken to ensure that people who really need a console to play games, and not resellers and speculators, could make purchases. Pre-order was only available to users who made purchases before June 2021. Now Valve has decided to remove this limitation.
On the first day, the number of pre-orders exceeded 100,000.
Earlier, we talked about the fact that lots of pre-orders of Steam Deck at inflated prices began to appear on eBay. Their consoles ranged in price from $ 850 to $ 5,000, while Valve sells their consoles for $ 399- $ 649 depending on the storage space of the Steam Deck (64-512 GB). The administration immediately began to fight with dealers, but such a move by Valve could negatively affect sales. At the same time, Valve co-founder and CEO Gabe Newell said that the gaming giant intends to take over the gaming industry and make very good sales.
