Cyberpunk 2077 will be able to meet the initial expectations of players?
Adam Kicinski, director of CD Project RED, announced that half of the development staff is working on improving Cyberpunk 2077 right now. The studio is trying to ensure that the initial expectations of players regarding Cyperpunk 2077 are met. The president of CD Projekt RED announced this during the financial report to investors for the first quarter of 2021.
Similar statements have already appeared in the press before. In April, the head of CD Projekt RED revealed that he will be able to bring the game to a state in which the company can be proud of its product. In addition, he said that while half of the developers are fixing Cyperpunk 2077, the other part of the company began preproduction of new projects. At the moment there is no information about them and the company is not ready to disclose any news related to new titles. Until 2022, the company does not plan to start parallel development of other games.
Cyperpunk 2077 was released on December 10 last year. She visited three platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game was later ported to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The port was implemented using backward compatibility technology. At the end, the game turned out to be quite raw and received a lot of criticism. In particular, the version for consoles of previous generations was perceived especially negatively due to the large number of bugs and terrible optimization. In addition, CD Projekt RED was accused of deliberately hiding bugs and other shortcomings, as the press always got the opportunity to test the product on computers, not consoles.
In the wake of a wave of disgruntled customers, Sony and Microsoft began refunds for games on legacy consoles, and Cyperpunk 2077 was removed from the PS Store altogether. The game still hasn't been restored in store from the Japanese gaming giant.
