Resident Evil: Village will be less scary than Resident Evil 7
Resident Evil Village producer Tsuyoshi Kanda recently gave an interview to Axios Gaming. In it, he revealed that the development team "balanced" the horror to make it less scary than Resident Evil 7.
When we develop the new Resident Evil, our goal is not always to make it more scary than the previous installment, but to find a balance to provide players with a frightening yet interesting experience. Some of the feedback we received regarding Resident Evil 7 was that it was too scary to play. On the one hand, this is exactly what we were striving for. This is a great compliment for us.
The Village's balance is primarily about making sure players don't become immune to fear, Kanda said. If they are constantly in a tense atmosphere, sooner or later they will become indifferent to all the horrors prepared by Capcom.
The release of Resident Evil Village will take place this Friday, May 7th. The horror will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
