Activision Blizzard is preparing for another wave of layoffs
Activision Blizzard plans to lay off more employees in its European offices soon, according to the gamesindustry.biz report. This will be the fourth round of layoffs the company has made over the past year. First of all, the wave of layoffs will affect divisions in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.
All of these acronyms are reportedly related to publishing functions and should not affect the development or support of any Activision Blizzard games.
"We have already shared our plans with our teams in Europe on how the company will develop in the future to better serve our players. We will take serious steps to support all employees and facilitate the transition for those colleagues who may be impacted by the proposed changes." Is an official statement from Activision Blizzard.
The report comes just days after Activision Blizzard laid off 50 employees in its esports division and reportedly laid off a whopping 190 people in total across the company. Last year, the company laid off over a thousand employees.
