World of Tanks will get to Steam

It looks like Wargaming has decided to expand its World of Tanks fan base. The developers plan to release the game on Steam 11 years after the release.

However, such news may upset experienced World of Tanks players. The fact is that the progress of the account cannot be transferred to another launcher - players on Steam will have to start the game from scratch.

This, among other things, is exactly the main goal of adding WoT to Steam. Thus, Wargaming is planning to attract new players.

Other inconsistencies between the launchers are not expected. The game servers will remain the same, and the game will be directly updated through the Valve platform, eliminating the need to run an external client for updates.  

The exact release date for World of Tanks on Steam has not been announced. The game's page on the Valve store only mentions a potential release cutoff of 2021.
