Rumor: the Elder Scrolls 6 will be released in 2026
According to independent gaming journalist Tyler McVeeker, The Elder Scrolls 6 will be released in 2026 or later, as Bethesda is actively working on the development of Starfield.
Previously, Tyler specialized exclusively in games from Valve, in particular, being the first to tell details about Half-Life: Alyx. Now the journalist is trying himself in a new role, not greatly delighting fans of The Elder Scrolls series.
On his Twitter account, the insider shared the following information that ties into Bethesda's immediate goals:
- Bethesda's closest project is Starfield. The game will be released in the next two years.
- The Elder Scrolls VI will be released in 2026-2027.
- Fallout New Vegas 2 will be released in the second half of the decade. Most likely, Obsidian will have nothing to do with the development of the sequel.
- Fallout 5 will be released closer to 2030.
It is important to remember that you should always accept information like this with a grain of salt. In addition, Bethesda has not shared a single release date for its upcoming titles.
Note that on December 31, Bethesda made a subtle hint of the scene of The Elder Scrolls 6. The developers posted a New Year's greetings to fans on their Twitter, in which they added a map with the main locations of the series. Fans quickly sorted out Bethesda's message, concluding that The Elder Scrolls 6 would develop in Hammerfell.
