DualSense added to Steam
Valve has updated their Steam Input system, which brings all gamepads on computers to a single standard. In addition, using this program, users can change the control of their gamepads using special technologies, for example, a touchpad or gyroscope. Users should now be able to adjust the DualSense parameter, but this feature is not yet available. According to the patchlog, Steam Input currently only has "initial input" support for PlayStation 5 devices.
Based on what users might come up with by connecting the DualShock 4 to a PC, the ability to customize the gamepad should also appear on the DualShock 5. As for the PS5 control device, players can customize almost everything, including the touchpad. Moreover, they can set such a parameter so that the top panel is split in two and allows different controls to be assigned to two different halves of the touchpad. Users were not deprived of the ability to control the gyroscope, which made it possible to diversify the gameplay of some games, and the glowing element in front served as additional indicators. For example, in some games, by the color of the controller, it was possible to determine how many health points were left for the character that users were playing.
Some PC games already have support for the DualSense element. This is due to the widespread DirectInput standard in which buttons, sticks and triggers work. With regard to tactile feedback, as well as special resistance on triggers and sensors on the touchpad, to interact with these elements will need special software support, which is still missing on the PC.
