Terminator: Survivors New Details—No Sarah Connor as Playable Character and When It’s Set
Several games based on the Terminator franchise have been released in recent years, and another project—Terminator: Survivors—is officially in development. Nacon Studio Milan is leading the charge, and according to the latest update, details have emerged about when the game’s events will take place, as well as mention of one of the most important characters.
As revealed by Screen Rant, the events of Terminator: Survivors will take place in 2009, four years after Judgment Day within the game’s universe. We’ll see a world in which the Resistance finds itself in a precarious position following the nuclear war, while Skynet strengthens its hold. As is well known, Nacon draws on the canon of the first two Terminator films while expanding their lore. According to the plot presented in Survivors, Sarah Connor managed to prevent a nuclear war in 1997, but by 2005, Skynet had gained self-awareness and launched an attack on humanity.
However, Sarah Connor will not be the main character in Terminator: Survivors. According to reports, the protagonist will be an ordinary survivor and a member of the Resistance. That said, Screen Rant claims players can expect to see familiar characters from the Terminator universe in the game—and perhaps even Sarah Connor herself.

As previously mentioned, there have been a few Terminator games released in recent years—and they’ve turned out to be quite high-quality and diverse. Teyon released the first-person shooter Terminator: Resistance, which takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles in 2029. Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance is an RTS that expands upon the events of the same-named film, chronicling the conflict between the Founders and the Legion. Finally, Terminator 2D: NO FATE was released last year—as the title suggests, it’s a platformer based entirely on the legendary Terminator 2: The Judgment Day. The game also features several alternate endings and modes. You can also purchase Terminator 2D: NO FATE on Eneba at a 5% discount using the promo code EGW5.
In terms of Terminator: Survivors, the game was originally supposed to launch in early access with a focus on co-op and survival—but the developers have confirmed they are changing course, and the game is now a single-player title. Despite Nacon’s financial difficulties, the publisher has also confirmed that work on Terminator: Survivors is continuing, although the game still does not have a confirmed release date.
