New GTA 6 Leak Confirmed First-Person Mode in Game

One of the biggest open questions about GTA 6, the most anticipated game of the year, has been whether it will have the first-person view, just like it was in Rockstar’s previous titles, Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Earlier reports claimed only a third-person mode would be available, but that may not be the whole story.

The answer appears to have come from a new GTA 6 gameplay leak. After a few weeks of silence, hacker Cyberleek, who leaked more than 10 gameplay clips this summer, has posted a video of over 20 minutes called “An Extended Leek.” The most talked-about moments are the full nudity of Jason and the partial nudity of Lucia, but there was plenty more, including motorcycle rides, detailed car customization, and a first-person view. Users haven’t worked out whether this view is permanent. It shows up while Jason is driving and in one scene where he looks at other vehicles. There’s no visible switch between first-person and third-person, so the game itself may change the view at certain moments.

Here’s GTA 6’s first-person mode

During the discussion, some users also pointed to Cyberpunk 2077, where players could switch between first-person and third-person views while driving, even though the game is first-person overall. Either way, the leak suggests GTA 6 does include a first-person view, despite recent claims that it would be third-person only. Meanwhile, Rockstar Games hasn’t given any comments on this matter yet. About an hour ago, the developers also shared new GTA 6 screenshots with stunning detail, along with information about the in-game radio stations.

Grand Theft Auto VI will release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
