GTA 6 Will Feature Only Third-Person Mode at Launch

Given the level of detail, the graphics, and how intricate the open world looks, fans are hoping GTA 6 will include a first-person mode, which was first introduced in the franchise back in 2014—when GTA V launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Rockstar Games hasn't confirmed anything for now, but a new report suggests the feature will be absent, at least not at launch.

As spotted by iGrandTheftAuto, citing Saudi Arabia's official classification listing, GTA 6 is described as an open-world, third-person action game, with no mention of first-person at all. That lines up with earlier claims from a media source with early access to the game, who also claimed first-person mode won't be available at launch, hinting it could potentially be added in a future update.

GTA 6 appears to be third-person only at launch.

Saudi Arabia’s official classification describes the game as an action title played from a third-person perspective, potentially hinting that first-person won't be available at release.

GTA 6 has picked up several notable updates over the past few days. Rockstar officially confirmed an M (17+) rating, and new screenshots and details have been unveiled in the latest Game Informer issue. Separately, Rockstar's Senior Vice President of Narrative, Rupert Humphries, stated the open world will be massive enough that the main story won't even cover the entire Leonida Keys map.

Grand Theft Auto VI will release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
