Voice Actor Teases His Character to Appear in God of War Laufey

Set for release next February, God of War: Laufey is expected to meaningfully expand the lore of Santa Monica Studio's universe. Few details about the project are known yet, but with Faye, one of the most important characters from God of War (2018) and God of War: Ragnarok, confirmed as the protagonist, it seems clear the franchise's backstory is about to get a lot bigger.

The game also opens the door for other returning characters from earlier entries. Meanwhile, Diogo Morgado, the Portuguese voice actor for Tyr in God of War: Ragnarok, reacted to the God of War Laufey announcement and teased at a possible return of his own, as you can check out below:

“If you only knew how restrictive an NDA is. I’ll tell you on a scale of 1 to 10 just how hard I had to bite my tongue to not say anything.”

Tyr didn’t appear in God of War (2018), though he was mentioned repeatedly, and his story plays a meaningful role in that game overall. He does show up in God of War: Ragnarok, where one of the game's biggest twists ties directly back to him.

This isn't the first time fans have speculated about returning characters in God of War Laufey, either. Some have previously floated the idea of Baldur from God of War (2018) showing up, given the villain was searching for Faye at the time and, after being killed by Kratos, could plausibly have ended up in Everywhen, the game's setting, where Faye herself is also found.

Santa Monica Studio also opened pre-orders for God of War: Laufey this week, detailing the standard and deluxe edition bonuses, along with new screenshots, one of which appears to show Kratos and Faye in ancient Greece, already sparking plenty of fan theories.

God of War Laufey releases on February 16, 2027 exclusively for PlayStation 5.
