Mindcop and Shogun Showdown Are Latest Free Games on Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store has launched its latest free game giveaway. This time, you can add two games to your library—Mindcop and Shogun Showdown—and the games that will be free next week have also been announced.

The first game available for free on EGS is Mindcop, developed by a studio called Andre Gareis and released in 2024. It’s a detective adventure game featuring puzzles, non-linear gameplay, and a unique visual style. You play as a detective who has five days to solve a murder in a small town. The main character has the ability to read the suspects’ minds through unique mini-games to determine whether a particular character is involved in the murder.

The second free game on the Epic Games Store is Shogun Showdown by Roboatino. It’s a pixelated turn-based roguelite where every attack, step, or turn counts as a move. The game requires concentration, as you’ll need to constantly maneuver to avoid enemy attacks. Both games are available for free on the Epic Games Store through September 24.

It was also announced two more games—Astrea Six Sided Oracles and Mechabellum—will be available for free on the Epic Games Store next week. Astrea Six Sided Oracles is a Slay the Spire-style roguelite strategy game that focuses on turn-based combat and deck-building with dice. Mechabellum is a tactical combat simulator with an emphasis on strategic moves, where you control giant mechs.

Additionally, Steam is currently offering a free copy of Crystal Crisis —a unique arcade-style fighting game where, instead of traditional combat, you must solve Tetris-like puzzles. The game also features characters from Cave Story, The Binding of Isaac, Tezuka Productions, etc. It includes various modes—a story campaign, arcade mode, survival mode, team mode, and even local and online multiplayer.
