S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope Could Be Released This Month—On July 30 or July 31

GSC Game World is currently working on a story expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, titled Cost of Hope, announced this spring at the Xbox Partner Preview. The developers have confirmed DLC will be launched this summer, though the exact date is still unknown. It might actually release even sooner than some people expect - as soon as this month.

As one Reddit user pointed out, the official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Discord channel is currently running a contest, with winners set to receive digital keys to Cost of Hope and results announced on July 30. That's led the user to speculate the DLC could be released that same day, the day after (July 31), or shortly after—since it wouldn't make much sense for contest winners to have to wait a couple more weeks for their prize. Either way, as the post's author, KvasirTheOld, points out himself, this is nothing more than speculation for now.

Stalker 2 DLC Cost of Hope could be released on July 30th or 31st

So this is pure speculation, but hear me out

There's currently a contest on the official discord. Among the contest's rewards, there's Cost of Hope keys.

The contest ends on July 30th. So it's either that the winners will not receive the keys then, but later, when the dlc is actually out (which is sort of anticlimactic if you ask me) or get them on July 30th or 31st, depending on when the rewards will be granted, meaning that the dlc will be out at that time

This is probably not as relevant, but they have amped up the social media posts about the dlc lately, and in a recent interview (where they refuted the claims that xbox paid them more than the whole cost of development) they have said that they're currently applying the finishing touched on the big update (which will most likely release at the same time as the dlc)

Again, just speculation. Could actually be the first option, and the winners get the keys later.

Recently, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl found itself at the center of a heated debate. Serhiy Hryhorovych, GSC Game World's founder, who left the studio this April, claimed in an interview that the game had already paid for itself before release, thanks to a partnership with Microsoft that fully funded development. But GSC Game World pushed back on that claim in a conversation with Insider Gaming, revealing it wasn't accurate; the project, they clarified, was funded from several sources, with most of the budget actually coming from the company's own owners, not Microsoft.

As for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope, the upcoming DLC will introduce a new heroine, Mavka, and bring back at least two familiar faces —Suslov, a scientist from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, and General Voronin, who only appeared as a minor character in the second installment. It will also include dozens of gameplay hours, new areas to explore, side quests, and extras like new weapons, gear, and anomalies.
