The portal We Got This Covered shared information, citing reliable sources, about the ongoing work of preproduction of the film on GTA V. Their informants previously provided the editors of the portal with information about the prequel to The Witcher series and the remake of Resident Evil 4, which later turned out to be true.

If insiders are right again, then the story will be based on the plot of GTA V with three main characters. There are no other details yet, as well as whether the actors who recorded the lines for the game and gave their appearance to the characters will play in the film. Previously, Stephen Ogg, who played Trevor Philips, starred in the GTA VR short film, where he again played the role of his character.

Last year, Strauss Zelnik, the head of GTA V's Take-Two, said he wanted to be free when filming films. He also noted that he does not want to seek help from third-party studios.

Sean Fontenot, who voiced Franklin from GTA V and gave him the appearance, was asked if he knew anything about the development of GTA VI and what he thinks about it. The actor said that he does not know the exact information, but in his opinion, the announcement did not take place even after 7 years due to the fact that it takes a lot of time to develop such a large-scale game.
