Clash Royale July Update Brings Ronin, CHAOS Mode, and New Rewards

Supercell has unveiled the Clash Royale July 2026 Season through a new episode of TV Royale, introducing a brand-new Legendary card, the return of CHAOS Mode, and a fresh daily reward system.

The upcoming update is centered around Ronin, a unique melee troop that headlines the season alongside a story-driven Album Event and several gameplay additions.

Ronin Joins Clash Royale as a New Legendary Card

The biggest addition in the July update is Ronin, a 5-Elixir Legendary melee troop with a powerful defensive ability.

Ronin's signature mechanic allows him to reflect melee attacks. Every few seconds, he enters a counter stance, and the next melee strike he receives is reflected back at the attacker with increased damage while briefly stunning the target.

This ability makes Ronin particularly effective against heavy-hitting melee units such as:

• Mega Knight
• P.E.K.K.A
• Prince
• Mini P.E.K.K.A

However, cheaper swarm troops like Skeletons, Goblins, and Spirits can force Ronin to use his counterattack prematurely, reducing his effectiveness against stronger enemies.

Players will be able to unlock Ronin through a dedicated in-game event by completing special objectives.

New Album Event Tells Ronin's Story

Ronin will also be the focus of a brand-new Album Event.

The event spans four weeks and features nine collectible scenes, revealing the Legendary warrior's backstory before his arrival in the Clash Royale Arena.

CHAOS Mode Returns With New Modifiers

One of the community's favorite limited-time modes is making a comeback.

CHAOS Mode returns with an updated lineup of cards and modifiers that dramatically change normal gameplay.

This season introduces:

• 15 newly modified cards
• 15 older cards rotating out of the mode
• Updated modifiers for several returning Season 1 cards
• Weekly card pool rotations to keep matches fresh throughout the season

The rotating format is designed to encourage players to experiment with different strategies every week.

Choice Chest Added to Daily Rewards

The July update also introduces a new Choice Chest as part of Clash Royale's daily reward track.

Instead of receiving a fixed reward, players will be able to choose from multiple available options when opening the chest.

Although Supercell has not yet revealed the complete reward pool, the new system is expected to give players greater flexibility when collecting daily rewards.

With a new Legendary card, the return of one of Clash Royale's most popular game modes, and improvements to the reward system, the July 2026 season is shaping up to be one of the game's biggest updates in recent months.
