Insomniac Games Still Plans to Release Marvel’s Venom In 2027

Currently, Insomniac Games is focused on developing Marvel's Wolverine, their upcoming project set to release this fall. It will face stiff competition from other AAA titles. At the same time, the studio is believed to be working on several other projects, including a Marvel's Venom spin-off, which has yet to be officially confirmed.

In April of this year, rumors circulated that Marvel's Venom had been cancelled, but several sources, including Jason Schreier, immediately confirmed that this was not the case. Meanwhile, Marvel insider That REDACTED Guy, who had previously shared details about the project, revealed that Insomniac Games plans to release Marvel's Venom in September of next year. Additionally, he disclosed that the studio, besides working on the Wolverine and Venom games, has already started development on Marvel's Spider-Man 3 and the next Ratchet and Clank installment.

It's still on track for a 2027 release. Likely September of 2027. Insomniac is heads down on 3 (technically 4) projects atm, Wolverine (almost gold) Venom, Spider-Man 3 and the next entry in Ratchet and Clank.

It is expected that the events of Marvel's Venom will take place after Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and will somehow lay the groundwork for the third installment. The main protagonist will be Eddie Brock, while his arch-nemesis from the comics, Carnage, will serve as the primary villain. In terms of scope, Marvel's Venom will be roughly the size of a spin-off dedicated to Miles Morales.

As for Marvel's Wolverine, the game is set to release exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 15th. It was recently revealed that the game's main villain will be Bolivar Trask, a mutant hunter and the creator of the Sentinels.
