Doom: The Dark Ages—Revelations Will Be “The True Celebration of the Franchise”
The highly anticipated expansion for Doom: The Dark Ages, titled Revelations, is set to be released very soon. It was first announced at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7. Recently, the developers hosted another Slayers Club Live stream, during which they revealed a wealth of new details about the upcoming DLC.
The information was shared by Hugo Martin, the game director of Doom: The Dark Ages, who stated that Revelations will be "among the best and most complete Doom experiences they've ever created." The developer promised that the final boss in the DLC, named Uber-Boss, will be the best in the entire franchise's history. After defeating this boss, players can look forward to new Master Arenas and fresh Ripatorium encounters. Additionally, Martin teased fans by mentioning a post-credits scene that could be astonishing for long-time fans of the series—although, of course, he didn’t go into any details.
Some gameplay details of Doom: The Dark Ages - Revelations were also revealed. The new weapon in the game, The Spear, may not seem very powerful at first, but as you upgrade it, it becomes indispensable in battle. Additionally, it's important to remember that the harpoon won't be tied to any specific weapon, so it can be used at any time.
The Revelations expansion for Doom: The Dark Ages will be released on July 7th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Owners of the Premium Edition will receive it for free. It was also recently announced that PS5 Pro users of the original game will benefit from enhanced PSSR technology support.
