FromSoftware's Hidetaka Miyazaki Teases Studio’s Next Project and Encourages Players to Look Forward to

It’s been a while, since FromSoftware released their major multiplatform project—excluding Elden Ring Nightreign, a spin-off of the original 2022 game—their latest title is considered to be 2023’s Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. However, many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of an ambitious RPG in the spirit of Bloodborne or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and the studio is reportedly actively working on such a game.

Not long ago, a leak revealed that the studio's new game is titled Cerulean Onslaught and is a dark-action RPG with a pirate theme. It was expected to be announced at the recently held Summer Game Fest presentation, with a release slated for August, but those rumors never materialized. Meanwhile, information about a new FromSoftware project called Project FMC has been circulating since 2023. In a recent interview with Den Faminico Gamer, the studio head, Hidetaka Miyazaki, added fuel to the fire by telling fans to eagerly anticipate their upcoming titles—both those already confirmed and others yet to be announced, as you can see below:

“Finally, if our users happen to read this message, we want to assure you that we will continue to work harder than ever to create truly valuable games. We hope you will look forward to our upcoming titles, both those already announced and those yet to be announced.”

However, it remains unclear when FromSoftware will reveal their new multiplatform game and what it will be about. Currently, the studio is focused on The Duskbloods, another new PvPvE project that will be exclusive to the Switch 2. A fresh look at the game was showcased this week during a Nintendo Direct, where it was confirmed that a closed beta testing phase is scheduled for this summer. The exact release date is still unknown, but the game is expected to launch in 2026.
